José Mazariegos is a workforce strategy and organizational effectiveness advisor who partners with employers, nonprofits, and education organizations to align talent, systems, and investment with equitable outcomes and long-term impact. With over a decade of experience across education and workforce development, José brings expertise in program design, workforce analytics, and cross-functional execution to support leaders in translating strategy into sustainable results.
He has held roles at Guild Education, KIPP, and Leadership for Educational Equity, where he managed multimillion-dollar portfolios and led initiatives spanning workforce development, education benefits, and talent strategy. His work includes oversight of a $30M+ employer-sponsored program, securing over $10M in philanthropic funding, and optimizing scholarship investments exceeding $2M to expand access to education and career pathways.
In parallel, José is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coach and business operator with over 15 years of experience training youth and adults. He has led self-defense and BJJ sessions for organizations including the Chicago Hounds, ALPFA, Fortune 500 companies, and the Chicago Cubs, and is part of one of the largest academies in Chicago.
